What are your payment terms?

Our standard terms for design and build projects are one third as a deposit, another third as an interim payment at a mutually agreed time and a final third on completion.
Contract maintenance customers enjoy a discount if they set up a monthly standing order.

Do you charge for making a visit?

No, not usually.  When you contact us to enquire about our services, we will discuss with you the nature of the work to be carried out. If it is a design and build enquiry then we will arrange for one of our designers to visit free of charge. Only if it is just advice you are requiring will we make a charge. Consultancies start at £65 for 3/4 hour and are refundable should you book in any site work.

Can I book a gardener over the phone?

Yes, many of our clients book in half or full day tidy ups over the phone. This is a popular service and clients who book in 6 visits during the course of a year get the final one at a 75% discount.

How much does it cost to have my garden designed?

Fees start at £285 + vat for a standard London garden. Larger gardens or proposals that are more intricate may involve a higher fee. This charge covers an initial meeting to discuss the brief, the survey and measuring of the garden, the production of a scaled plan drawing and elevations. Another meeting to discuss the proposal and the production of a detailed specification and a firm quotation.

How much does a new garden cost?

Inevitably there are many factors that influence the cost of a new garden. Some gardens we build cost less than £10,000. Some have cost more than £100,000. Our records show that the majority cost between £10,000 and £25,000. During our initial meeting we will give you some guideline costing information for your consideration before any design work is started.

Do you carry out tree surgery?

Yes, we have our own tree department. A dedicated manager running 3 teams of qualified arborists carry out the full range of services. All our work is fully insured and we will arrange for the relevant permissions with the local authority.

How long does the work take?

We will advise you of the anticipated length of time that the project will take well before starting. With larger projects we will provide you with a works programme.
Poor weather and additional requests will lengthen the process. Our standard hours are 7.30-4.30 Monday to Friday, although some of our teams are happy to work Saturdays too.

Do I have to arrange for skips?

No, we will apply for any necessary skip licenses and all removal costs will have been included in our quotation.

What guarantees do you provide?

All our work is guaranteed in terms of material and workmanship as per our terms and conditions. It should be noted however that plants can only be guaranteed if we are contracted to maintain them after planting.
