London’s Air Ambulance:
Based on the roof of the Royal London Hospital, the capital’s elite trauma team employ the ambulance, essentially an airborne intensive care unit, to attend all areas within the M25, flying every day of the year. London's Air Ambulance has been in attendance at all the city's major catastrophes including the Soho bombings and the 7/7 bombings - on which day some 26 missions were carried out using the helicopter, and 208 people were treated at the Royal London Hospital. This is a vital service for badly-injured Londoners.
